Preview to summer link-up #5

Hi guys,

for this week link-up we have to talk about literary soundtracks or character crushes. Since i'm not so good with soundtracks, i can't listen to my Iphone while reading a book. I'm so caught up in the book that i don't hear the songs :)

So i will be talking about my character crush, if you read this blog you will already know i'm huge Harry Potter fan. Most of the people from school ( and my family) didn't really get my HP love and they absolutely didn't get my crush for Rupert Grint aka Ron Weasley. But come on: he's funny, cute and he loves his family. He's also the reason i have soft spot for ginger lads :)
LONG LIVE OUR GINGER KING ;)

So who's your character crush?

With much love

Preview to summer link-up #4

Hi guys,

For this week link-up we have to talk about book covers and whether you judge a book by it's cover.

 LinkUp4-Cover (2)

1)Do you judge a book by its cover

I really try not to, but yes i do it sometimes. But i also look at the back of the book for the summary. Because how good the cover might seem, i only picked if i like the summary.

2)How important is cover design to you?

I think it's important because it's the first think that grabs my attention when i go book shopping. It always tells you something about the book.

3)Share your favorite book cover.

This is the same book but apparently we have a different cover in Belgium. I'm not a goth person, but i liked this cover( the dutch one) and i also liked the title ( it has a different title as well  it's called the witches alphabet).

This is also one of my favorite covers. It just screams that's about magic and fairies,.. I also like the fact that you can feel all those curls ( is that the right word? 'cause i have no idea how to put it)

So do you judge a book by it's cover? And what's your favourite cover?

Take my to wonderland.

Hi guys,
I finally booked my holiday for this summer. I'm going to Corfu, that's one of the Greek islands. I'm so looking forward to it. I'm going with one of my best friends.

Trousers: C&A, cardigan: Zeeman, t-shirt: Only, shoes: F21, ring: Six

Don't you just love my shoes? I definitely do, they are so so cute. I like how my ring looks like it's from Alice in Wonderland, or is that just me? :)

This is more of a comy look to me when I don't want to dress up. I like dresses and dressing up real feminine but sometimes I just want something comfortable.

Hi,

this week we have to talk about cities we like to read about. I love reading stories that happen at different places, country's i've never been. But i've never read a book just because it's about a city or country that i love. Because i don't actually have a favorite city, i'm going to talk about some books that take places at country's i love to visited some day.

HEART'S BLOOD-JULIET MARILLIER

This actually a picture of my own copy. The author herself send it to me as a gift. It takes places in Ireland, it's about a girl who runs away from her past and end up in a haunted castle surround by people that that aren't who they say they are.
It reminds me a bit of Beauty and the Beast but i promise you'll love it!

A haunted forest. A cursed castle. A girl running from her past and a man who’s more than he seems to be. A tale of love, betrayal and redemption…

SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING PANTS-ANN BRASHARES

Who hasn't read these books? I know i love them, i could recognized myself in every one of the girls. I'm actually going to Greece this summer and all i can think about are these girls.

 WILDWOOD DANCING-JULIET MARILLIER

This is one of my favorite books, it has a sequel(Cybele's secret.) This such a beautiful book, it's about five girls who live in Transylvania.

There are many mysteries within the wildwood. Jena and her sisters share the biggest of all, a fantastic secret that enables them to escape the confines of their everyday life in rural Transylvania. They have kept it hidden for nine long years.
When their father falls ill and must leave their forest home over the winter, Jena and her oldest sister Tati are left in charge. All goes well until a tragic accident allows their over bearing cousin Cezar to take control. The appearance of a mysterious young man in a black coat divides sister from sister, and suddenly Jena finds herself fighting to save all she holds dear. With her constant companion Gogu by her side, she must venture to realms dark and perilous in her quest to preserve, not just those she loves, but her own independence as well.

So these are my picks, which ones would you pick?

Last week you could read my three favorite books. This week we have to pick five books every woman should read. You have no idea how difficult I find this. I mean we all have books we like to read but actual books every woman should read. So after a bit of thinking these are the books I think you should read as a woman or girl.

PRIDE AND PREJUDICE-JANE AUSTEN

I think everybody should read this book, it's such a beautiful love story. And who doesn't like Mr.Darcy :)

GEMMA DOYLE TRILOGY-LIBBA BRAY

I've already told you guys this is one of my favorite books. I think every girl should read this because it's about friendship, finding yourself, how to deal with your feelings and the relationship with your parents.

A LITTLE PRINCESS-FRANCES HODGSON BURNETT

This a beautiful book, i've first seen the movie and when i find out a few years later that there was a book. I knew i had to read it. I hope if i have daughters one day, that they will also love this book. 'Cause which girl doesn't like to be treated like a princess.

ALL BOOKS FROM JULIET MARILLIER

She' s my favorite author. She's a fantasy writer from Australia how writes historical fantasy books. Her leading lady's are always strong women. I think that's important for young girls or women to know that they can be strong.

JUST BEING AUDREY-MARGRET CARDILLO

Just Being Audrey

I must tell you guys i'm a huge Audrey Hepburn fan. I was named after her and i still think she's the greatest actress and style-icon ever. I think every girl should read this, so they would know what true beauty really is.

So these are my picks, let me know which ones you would pick.

Pinspiration

I'm a huge Pinterest fan, so i will be sharing every week some of the pins that inspire me. Whether it's clothing, quotes,...

This makes me want summer so badly!

I had to finish with some Harry Potter ;)

I find out who's my blogger book swap partner. Her name is Valerie and she blogs over at The Daily Distraction. Go and say 'Hi' to her, she's real nice. I think it will be interesting because we have a different taste with books. I like fantasy and young adult while she doesn't like fantasy at all :)

Have a lovely weekend!

Preview to Summer Link-Up #1

Hi there,

i'll be taking part in this book swap. It will be my first time, i have never done such thing before but i'm super excited because i just love books.

For this first link up we have to say our top 3 favorite books.
Such a difficult choice, it's like choosing between your children. ;)

MY NUMBER 1: HARRY POTTER-J.K.ROWLING

Of course i had to choose Harry Potter, he'll always be my first love. But if i have to choose between all the HP books,my absolute favorite is HP and The Order of the Phoenix. I like it that we get to know more about HP's past.

MY NUMBER 2: THE HUNGER GAMES- SUZANNE COLLINS

I love the entire series, so i'm counting them as 1 book. I actually thought i wouldn't like it, but it's so good. I like the  love triangle between Katniss, Peeta and Gale.

MY NUMBER THREE: A GREAT AND TERRIBLE BEAUTY- LIBBA BRAY

This is also part of a series. It's one of the best supernatural 'ghost' story's i have ever read.

"A Victorian boarding school story, a Gothic mansion mystery, a gossipy romp about a clique of girlfriends, and a dark other-worldly fantasy--jumble them all together and you have this complicated and unusual first novel.

So these were my favorite books. What are your favorite books?
